Full training cost from as little as £25 per hour

 

The driving instructor training course is subsidised by our driving school because we know with each trainee recruited we are likely to have a happy driving instructor for many years to come. As a result we charge up to a £1,500 less for our driving instructor training course than some of our competitors.

 

The full cash price of the course is normally £1,750 but if you decide to join and rent a car from us after qualifying we offer cash back and savings worth over £250  thus the real cost of the course can be as little as £1,500.  Best of all you receive these benefits immediately after you join. Alternatively, you can pay-as-you-go from as little as £30 per hour.  Thus with Freedom Driver Training becoming a driving instructor is almost within anyone's reach.

How we work together

 

We provide you with the means to earn money directly from your pupils and you in turn pay us. This method of operating is often referred to as a job franchise. All the other major driving schools in the UK operate in this manner (e.g. BSM, the AA etc.). Typically a large weekly fee of between £200 and £300 per week is paid for the provision of a car and pupils. This type of set up can potentially leave you out of pocket if insufficient work is provided. However, this doesn't happen with FDT because of the innovative way in which we work with our instructors.

 

We only charge a small weekly fee of £30 with all other services being optional. This ensures you only pay for what you need and that charges for optional services have to be very competitive to keep your custom. Our main source of income is generated through the provision of pupils to our instructors. In short, we obtain a commission based on the pupil fees we collect on your behalf. Thus you cannot be out of pocket because at the same time we request our commission we provide you with the pupil fees for the work done, a much fairer system.

 

We also provide you with the means and know-how to generate your own pupils. In this regard we are quite unique. No charges are made for pupils that are self-generated. Therefore, the more pupils you obtain for yourself, the more you earn and the less you pay to us. Within just a few months the majority of our instructors are able to self-generate a large proportion of their own pupils from referrals alone thus avoiding pupil commission charges. This is one of the reasons why we can offer such an incredible value-for-money franchise package and why very few instructors’ leave once joined.

 

With regards to the car, you can either rent or buy a driving school car from us at a subsidised rate, or use your own car (if suitable) - the choice is yours. Thus you can be assured of keeping your car costs to a minimum. Also unique to FDT is the option to choose the type of car you want to drive. Any car that you do obtain will have your own contact details incorporated into the standard FDT car livery to help you generate even more of your own pupils and thus reduce your costs still further.
