Since our founding, Freedom Driver Training has had the opportunity to help countless students acquire their freedom and independence. 

​

Our client centred approach is about creating a conversation between the learner and the instructor that is based on mutual respect the instructor brings to the learning process their knowledge, understanding and experience. If they rely simply on telling the learner what they should do they will probably be able to teach them enough to pass their test. However, all the evidence suggests that learners in this sort of relationship do not really change the way they think and quickly forget what they have been taught. There is a better chance of a long-lasting change in understanding and behaviour if the instructor:

–  presents their knowledge, understanding and experience clearly and effectively

–  listens to the learner’s reactions to that input

–  helps the learner to identify any obstacles to understanding and change

–  supports the learner to identify strategies for overcoming those obstacles for         

    themselves

-  foundational skills, develop new techniques and confidently move forward in their

    learning journey.

Freedom Driver Training was born out of a simple idea: bringing high quality, accessible driver education to the entire community.

​

Like most driving instructors we started out teaching learners to pass the standard driving test, however, forever striving to improve our own knowledge most of our trainers diversified into other areas, including fleet driver training, police driver improvement schemes and even work as part of the assessment teams at Driving Mobility Centres assessing peoples medical fitness to drive.  This unique range of experience is what sets us apart of others and makes Freedom Driver Training one of the best schools around.
